Procrustes methods for projective shape

چکیده
Consider a configuration of k points or landmarks in R, represented as a k × m matrix X0. For many purposes, it is not the configuration of X0 which is of importance but its shape, that is, its equivalence class under an appropriate group of transformations. One important type of shape is projective shape. Let X = [1k, X0] be a k × p matrix, where p = m + 1, containing the landmark positions in homogeneous coordinates. In the theory of projective shape we treat

Weighted Procrustes Analysis for Diffusion Tensor Imaging
There has been substantial interest in the development of methods for processing diffusion tensor fields, taking into account the non-Euclidean nature of the tensor space. In this paper, we generalise Procrustes analysis to weighted Procrustes analysis for diffusion tensor smoothing, interpolation, regularisation and segmentation in which an arbitrary number of tensors can be processed efficien...
متن کاملShape coordinates or Procrustes distances? Biometric hypotheses over multiple spaces, with a suggestion for mixed bioinformatic–morphometric studies
Bioinformatics sample summaries often involve distances or the conversion of similarities to dissimilarities, while Procrustes methods can proceed either via distances or via the shape coordinates underlying those distances. There is a distance–distance statistical method, currently increasing in popularity in some of my applications domains, that is at once simple, intuitive, and quite wronghe...
متن کاملLory 1.0: Model-based Estimation of Local Shape Deformations
LORY implements the methods described in Marquez et al. (2012) for the estimation of shape variables that measure local differences in shape between individual samples and their Procrustes mean. “Local” refers herein to infinitesimal differences in shape mapped continuously over entire configurations; these differentials give rise to shape variables that differ from other variables such as Proc...
متن کاملMining Lung Shape from X-Ray Images
This paper presents an approach for mining 2D shape of human lungs from large x-ray image archives of a national level. Images were accumulated in framework of a compulsory computerized country-wide screening programme launched few years ago which is being under development. Three study groups of images containing about 21, 18 and 39 thousand of subjects were created by sub-sampling from a test...
متن کاملICCVG 2002 - template
In the article we present the process of scene model fusion. It consists of several iterations performed separately for each viewpoint. In the approach we find a weak subgraph isomorphism from a graph of a new observation to a model graph. We combine a modified Ullman algorithm for subgraph matching with Procrustes methods of 3D shape analysis. Such solutions make it possible to quickly and acc...
